Fondation Hippocrène, Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes’ partner since 2010, welcomes seven young European artists and laureates of Pépinières’ programmes for an exhibition at the Villa Mallet Stevens in Paris from 16th to 29th January 2015. The theme of this exhibition, which is consistent with the Villa’s space, is futurist and utopian architecture. Together, the artists question our everyday life and the evolution of our world to propose a personal reinterpretation of it. Drawings from Juliette Vivier and Camille Pajot will be presented in connection with Wesley Meuris’ models. Edwin & Melvyn will propose an immersive and fictional installation. The composer Sebastian Rivas and the flutist Paolo Vignaroli will offer, on the evening of the preview, an original music performance that will combine laptop creation and bass flute. “Futurs Composés” considers situations that may happen in a near or remote future but the exhibition also intends to provide the viewer with an understanding of how artists experiment crossings to compose a variety of possibilities.
